About the "Dark Fire" Build

I bought this bike in 2004, it is a 2002 "C" Model. It had 7000 miles on it. I've been riding most of my life, and had always wanted to build a custom pro street motorcycle. Kids finally grew up, and I started to realize that I had an opportunity to realize one of my dreams. So, I started out with the help of friends learning how to work on the bike myself, doing maintenance stuff and mild modifications. I learned alot form the Different message boards I joined, VTXOA, Stumpwerx, and The Texas X Riders. I've met some life long friends on these boards, and sometimes I believe buying this bike and joining this community was one of the favorite things in my life I ever done. I'll start with a video that shows the progression of my bike from when I bought her to the present.

The following pics are into the 4th yr. and I'll try to explain what I was doing and why.

This is the front bracket fir the softail air ride shocks, actually this is a 2nd generation, and there's a third. Its hard to see from this pic, but it is 3/4" below the frame, this was an unknown problem at the time.

This is the custom swing arm made by Brown County Custom, with the final drive attached chromed by GatewayXtreme.

As you can see here, the exhaust mounting bracket, just ain't gona work.

But all problems are solvable...don't need no stinkin bracket...just make the exhaust shorter, so it don't need supportin...BTW, made it louder too.

This is the on board compressor for the air ride, tucked into what used to be a tool box
